DAVID MUTH, PhD
DAVID MUTH, PhD Managing Partner
David Muth is the Managing Partner of Peoples Company Investment Services and mAgma LLC. David is an entrepreneur, building businesses that focus on agriculture data service technologies, creating economic opportunities from sustainability and soil health focused management, and creating innovative land acquisition strategies that deliver improved investment returns.
David is trained as a mechanical engineer receiving his PhD from Iowa State University. He spent the first several years of his career building technologies in advanced biofuels in partnership with the US Department of Energy. In 2013 he co-founded AgSolver, Inc in Ames, IA, an agricultural data service start-up. David created and deployed a precision agriculture concept called Precision Business Planning that integrated vast data resources to deliver economically focused management strategies at the sub acre scale. Precision Business Planning strategies create a platform for simultaneously improving operating income, investor returns, and environmental performance outcomes. David is advising on multiple national scale efforts within USDA, commodity organizations, and large agribusinesses to deploy these strategies to economically improve conservation and soil health outcomes while providing net income benefits for landowners and operators.
David led the acquisition of AgSolver, Inc in 2017 by EFC Systems, Inc. an ag retail focused software and technology company. David maintains a daily presence in production agriculture through his farming operation that works with his family farming business where he grew up in North Central Iowa.
David is currently focused on building Peoples Company Investment Services as a premier land investment firm creating maximum financial returns for investment partners. His experience in agriculture technology data services coupled with actively managing farming interests provide unique perspective that deliver investment opportunities for clients. David is leading Peoples Company Investment Services to develop industry leading, technology driven analyses of land assets to build management strategies that deliver improved financial performance for investors and operators.
Heather is actively involved throughout the acquisition, diligence, and business planning portions of the investment process. She evaluates each operation's financials to understand historical asset performance and completes financial modeling and forecasting for future operations. Heather also creates business plans based on information provided from due diligence, improvement opportunities, and investor stipulations. Heather leads our Team in developing financial models for mAgma LLC offerings and provides professional financial expertise in managing mAgma LLC assets.

BRUCE SHERRICK, PhD
BRUCE SHERRICK, PhD Advisor
Bruce is helping to develop and deploy investment evaluation tools to facilitate the most efficient capitalization of farmland investments. Professionally, Bruce is a professor in the Agricultural and Consumer Economics department at the University of Illinois where he holds the Marjorie and Jerry Fruin Professorship of Farmland Economics and serves as the Director of the TIAA Center for Farmland Research. He is also the Managing Partner of integrated Financial Analytics & Research (iFAR), and a Board member and Audit Chair of the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (Farmer Mac).
Through Farmer Mac, Bruce helps to create and implement loan-funding programs that increase farmers' access to capital. As a member of the Farmland Technical Advisory Board, he coordinates the required calculations that support the use-value farmland assessment system in the State of Illinois. Further, Bruce has helped to build information systems for agricultural asset markets that utilize big data and novel computational strategies to better understand farmland values. Additionally, Bruce's company, iFAR, develops and supports innovative insurance programs including Trend-Adjusted APH, numerous private market add-on insurance products, and a suite of decisions tools to measure and manage price and yield risk on commercial farms.
Bruce earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with distinction. He then went on to receive his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics and Finance from Ohio State University, receiving the Outstanding Dissertation Award. Bruce has published innumerable journal articles, case studies, proceedings, bulletins, reports, and commissioned papers, as well as written chapters in books and given dozens of presentations highlighting his extensive research.
HUNTER NORLAND Asset Manager
Hunter oversees the sourcing and analyzing of investment-grade agricultural assets across the United States on behalf of mAgma LLC. He proactively seeks out value-added investment opportunities according to the specific investment mandates. He is responsible for shepherding assets through the acquisition workflow to deal execution including initial negotiations and closing coordination. Hunter performs valuation analysis, executes diligence workflows, and assists land managers with improvement projects and operator sourcing.

Molli leads mAgma LLC’s initiatives to establish the mAgma brand and promote farmland as a valuable asset class. She assists with business planning components including net income optimization, operational analysis and scenarios, revenue protection strategies, and sensitivity analysis. Molli creates detailed project plans to ensure each business is operating at optimal levels and coordinates the movement of assets through each phase of the investment process in a timely, efficient manner. She is responsible for directing the growth initiatives for mAgma and prioritizing the prosperity and experiences of mAgma’s investors.

JAXON GOEDKEN Disposition Specialist
Jaxon serves a large role in the disposition of investment grade agricultural assets for mAgma LLC. He first works to develop an understanding of historical asset performance, asset valuation, and key characteristics. Jaxon develops custom marketing materials including direct mailing campaigns, social media boosts, and interactive websites. He works with leading brokers to determine the best mode of disposition considering listing and numerous auction methods. Jaxon communicates with clients throughout the disposition process as he oversees all steps from proposal to closing execution.

JAKE COSTANZO Land Analyst
Jake assembles data and performs analysis on investment grade agricultural assets on behalf of mAgma LLC including historical performance assessments, mapping, and regional evaluations. He manages a database of land listings and auctions throughout all target states to maintain comprehensive deal flow. Jake also assists with the asset valuation process by researching relevant sales and tracking local market trends. He aids in the collection of asset information throughout the diligence process.
